Trying something new can feel intimidating, especially when it comes to fitness classes. You might think, "What if everyone there is a regular, and I look like a total newbie?" But who cares? Trying new workouts is all part of the fun.
So, why not give U JUMP a try? It's a workout that's worth the effort. Here's everything you need to know before you book your first U JUMP class, and before you know it, you'll be jumping like a pro.
You may not master all the moves immediately - and that’s OK!U JUMP is an exciting one-hour workout that feels like a dance party. Anyone can join, regardless of their fitness level, whether they're new to fitness or regulars. You'll have a great workout no matter what your experience is, as long as you're open to trying something new.
The U JUMP method involves repeating certain steps throughout the class, allowing you to build on what you've already learned. After attending two or three classes, the moves will become easier as you begin to recognise them.
Most of the moves in U JUMP require you to move your arms and legs at the same time, but for beginners, we recommend focusing on getting the footwork right before adding in the arm movements. Start with your feet and gradually incorporate the other movements as you become more comfortable. As you progress, you'll feel more confident and energised, enabling you to focus on maximising your workout and toning your muscles! You can find more information about the U JUMP workout

There’s a warm-up and cool-down.Before we begin the U JUMP class, we'll start with a warm-up that targets various body parts. The warm-up will be simple but effective, with heart-pumping cardio moves to get your blood flowing. The main workout will follow this.
The final song in the U JUMP session is the cool-down, where you'll stretch. We'll take time to focus on the muscles we've just worked and pay close attention to your body during this time. Take a few minutes to cool down and relax.
The rebounders are safe and comfortable. Our U JUMP fitness rebounders prioritise your safety and comfort. Made in Australia, they feature a strong rubber cord instead of springs, reducing the risk of injury. With eight sturdy legs, you can feel stable and comfortable during your workout. For added safety, a handrail is included to help with balance.
During our outdoor Scarborough Beach sessions, our instructors will remind you to check the rebounder's position and avoid leaning or putting excessive weight on the front. By following these instructions, you can have a safe and enjoyable workout.

You can grab water when you need it.During our workout, water breaks are scheduled between each song. However, you can take a break whenever you need it, whether it's in the middle of a song or between songs. It's important to listen to your body and stay hydrated to have a great workout experience.
We recommend bringing at least 1 litre of water, especially if you're exercising outside during the summer. While we don't encourage excessive water consumption during the breaks, staying hydrated is crucial.
Come dressed to jump!
The design of the U JUMP fitness rebounders means your workout will be low impact, but you'll break a sweat with all that movement! Make sure to wear a supportive sports bra and closed-in sneakers. Loose clothing is not recommended; you'll jump and move the whole time. And remember to fuel up wisely, avoid eating a big meal before class and hit the bathroom before class starts.
Try to come early.
Maximise your success by showing up early - at least 20 minutes before class. Arrive early to meet the team, sign your waiver, get set up, and inform your instructor of any injuries or conditions. Give yourself extra time at the Scarbrough Beach location during summer for parking.
What to expect when you arrive
The rebounders will be set up and ready to go when you arrive. The instructor will give you any other equipment you need, and you can pick your spot — no need to be nervous. Let the instructor know it's your first U JUMP class, and they'll guide you through it.
And don't worry; it's hard to fall off the rebounders, even for the most uncoordinated among us. The instructor will instruct you on how to use it safely. Not only that, you'll spend most of the time jumping and moving, but also focusing on arms, glutes, and core. If you feel discomfort, ask for modifications, the important thing is to keep moving.
After the class
After class, remember to take a moment to breathe and steady yourself. But don't worry. We'll make sure you have a proper cool-down before you go. You'll leave the class sweating and feeling energised! U JUMP targets your entire body, especially your abs, legs, and glutes, with a low impact on your joints. Get ready to feel the burn and love it!
